UNSEEN EVIDENCE

UNSEEN EVIDENCE

Bret Clement 2007

Diploid, Dormant, em., 7.5", 37" Height, 3 Way Branching, 18 Budcount
(Cerulean Star x Satin Bird)

UNSEEN EVIDENCE is the surreal offspring of a CERULEAN STAR. It is a borderline unusual form with pinched petals; however it does not always evidence sufficient pinching on the third petal to meet the unusual form definition, and thus is an unfortunate casualty of the problematic rule that requires that unusual form characteristics be present on 3 sepals or 3 petals. It is a rich purple with a yellow green throat and a large whitish veined watermark with a white edge running halfway up the petals and a narrower edge running the length of the sepals. White throats and/or watermarks and veined watermarks are two characteristics that I think lend distinction and UNSEEN EVIDENCE offers both features. UNSEEN EVIDENCE is a very good parent, as evidenced by the fact that this past summer I used not only its pollen, but that of two of its offspring as well.
